Biography

  • Inez Didamia Chase was born 31 January (error. It was Dec.) 1862 in Ogden, Utah Territory, the daughter of Elisha Wells Chase and Jane McGary, who had sixteen children. [1]

In 1870, the Chase family lived in Ogden, Utah Territory. The household included E. Wells Chase, 40, born in New York, a farmer with $2000 in real estate and $1800 in personal estate; his wife Jane, 35, b. Canada; and their ten children, all b. Utah: Jane, 15; Wells (Charles), 14; William, 12; Frances, 10; Ernest, 9; Inez, 7; Jersey (Tirzah), 5; Charlotte, 4; Ezra, 2; and Clara, 7 months, b. Nov 1869. [2]

In 1880, Inez lived with her family on their farm in Ogden, Utah Territory. Her father, Wells was a farmer living with his wife, eleven children, his aunt Ellener Morse, and a boarder, John Allen. Living on a neighboring property was his son Charles and his family. [3]

  • Inez married William Edward Cunningham on 21 March 1885. They had three children: Anna Pauline, 1886; Edna, 1889; and Arthur, 1895-1970. Inez died on 28 May 1898 in Ogden, Utah.

Inez (Chase) Cunningham, was born 31 December 1862 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of E. Wells Chase and Jane McGary. She married William Edward Cunningham (1858-1923). Inez died, aged 35, on 28 May 1898 in Ogden, and is buried there at Ogden City Cemetery.[4]

Inez and her husband William are mentioned in the marriage record of their son, Arthur Cunningham, who married Dorcas Sorensen on 12 November 1921 in Weber County, Utah.[5]

Inez is mentioned in the death record of her husband, William Edward Cunningham, who was born about 1859, the son of Patrick Joseph Cunningham and Bridget Broderick. He died, aged 64, on 14 March 1923 in Ogden, Utah.[6]
