Biography

George was born in Grahamstown on 5 February 1862.[1][2]

He married Elizabetha Marguarita van der Merwe in Rhodesia.[1]

In 1890 he was a salt maker in Kimberley.[3]

He died at Morifontein, Waterberg, Transvaal, South Africa, on 11 June 1909.[1]

He left five children:

  • Martha Susanna Fransina Christina, born 18 October 1890 [1]
  • Hendry William, born 8 November 1893 [1]
  • Petrus Carl, born 2 March 1897 [1]
  • Sophia, born 6 October 1902[1]
  • George William, born 6 November 1907. [1]

Note: According to the DN his father's name was Hendry (sic) William Clack resident in Vrededorp, Johannesburg.
