Biography

George was born in Grahamstown on 5 February 1862.^[1][2]

He married Elizabetha Marguarita van der Merwe in Rhodesia.^[1]

In 1890 he was a salt maker in Kimberley.^[3]

He died at Morifontein, Waterberg, Transvaal, South Africa, on 11 June 1909.^[1]

He left five children:

• Martha Susanna Fransina Christina, born 18 October 1890 ^[1]
• Hendry William, born 8 November 1893 ^[1]
• Petrus Carl, born 2 March 1897 ^[1]
• Sophia, born 6 October 1902^[1]
• George William, born 6 November 1907. ^[1]
