Marie Yvonne Angela Claude was born at Saint-Hyacinthe on Jan. 17, 1904 and she was baptized there the same day. ^[1] She was the eight child of ten and the last daughter of six for Joseph Napoleon Glaude and Marie Cleophee Albina Gagne. Sadly, three of her older siblings had already died young, so she would never know them.

When Yvonne was only about three years old, her family moved to Massachusetts and settled at New Bedford. They are found at the St. Albans border crossing, Vermont. ^[2] and the immigration file has also been found. ^[3]

Yvonne's parents had one more child born in New Bedford, MA. but they also briefly lived at Plainfield, Ct as the family is found there in the 1910 U.S. census with the surviving seven children. ^[4] Yvonne is six years old and she was listed as, Eva. 1910 US census Connecticut Windham Plainfield ED 577 Sheet 13B Lines 51-59: Napoleon Cloud (Claude), 43 carder, woolen mill; Albina Cloud (Gagne), 42; seven Claude children: Albert, 19; Rose, 17; Mary, 13; Alda, 11; Eva, 6; Antonian, 4; Leo, 2. [3] Census date: May 3, 1910.

Yvonne's father passed away October 01, 1911 at Meriden, New Haven Co., CT, and her mother on June 08, 1920 at New Bedford, Bristol, MA.

Yvonne Claude married Hector Chicoine at New Bedford, MA on June 27, 1927. ^[5] He was the son of Antoine Chicoine and Mary L. Duchaine who had married at Palmer, MA on September 07, 1891. Yvonne and Henry lived much of their lives at New Bedford and they had four children born there between 1928 - 1938, three boys and one girl. Two of the children married in Connecticut. It is believed that the last son, Raymond, born in 1938, died young as he is not in the 1940 census.

1930 U.S. Census, MA Bristol, New Bedford, ED98, Sheet 1B, lines 51-54: Hector Chicoine, wife Yvonne Claude – Chicoine, son, Maurice, 1 years, and Hector's widowed father, Antoine Chicoine. ^[6] Hector is a baker.

1940 U.S. Census, MA Bristol, New Bedford City , Ward 1, ED20-34, Sheet 2A, lines 20-24 : Hector Chicoine, wife Yvonne Claude – Chicoine, son, Maurice, 11 years; daughter, Yvette, 7; son, Wilfrid, 5. ^[7] This census appears to indicate that Hector now has his own bakeshop as it says, "baker, own trade."

Yvonne Claude - Chicoine passed away at Hartford, CT on October 09, 1963. ^[8] She was 59 years old.
