Nathan Closson was born on 29 Nov 1789 in Deer Isle, Hancock, Maine, United States. His parents were Josiah Closson (1766 - 1850) and Sarah (Tobin) Closson (1763 - 1850).

Nathan married Mary Davis (1797 - 1873) in 1827.
