John Clough was born in Yorkshire, England.

John was born in 1851. He was the son of Robert Clough and Isabella Robinson.

On 30 March 1851 Robert Clough (26) sizer in cotton & Isabella Clough (24) with John Clough (1 Month), Lodgers John Smith (20) & Daniel Smith (14) lived in Skipton, Yorkshire, England. [1]

On 7 April 1861 Isabella (34) lived in Skipton, Yorkshire, England with John Clough (10), Jemima Clough (6), Sarah Clough (3), James Robinson (27) & Margaret Robinson (23). [2]

In 1862 the Clough family departed Liverpool on board Vanguard and arrived in Melbourne, Australia on 21 June 1862.[3]

John Clough married Mary Berkery in 1876 in Victoria. [4]

John left Mary on 3 June 1891 at Walhalla, Gippsland, Victoria.

She deposed that they had been married for 16 years. On the 3rd June, 1891, he left her, and she did not hear of him till he was arrested on warrant at Swan Hill, at the beginning of the present week.

In October 1894 John Clough (Miner) and wife Mary lived in Napier St, Eaglehawk, Victoria. [5]

He passed away in 1927, aged 76. [6]
