Biography

Elizabeth married John Jacka on 18 June 1744 in St Pol de Leon Church, Paul, Cornwall, England.[1] [2]

Research Notes

There are three different Elizabeth Cock's baptized in Paul parish within a twelve month span. Given that no father's name is given on her marriage document, I am unable to determine if she is the daughter of

  1. Richard, baptized in February 1724,[3]
  2. Nicholas, baptized April 14, 1724,[4]
  3. Thomas, baptized January 25, 1725.[5]

But given that children were usually baptized at about a month old, it would seem likely that all three girls were born in 1724.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:

Sorry Sandra.  My husband had a stroke so much genealogy has taken a back burner.
Goodness Sandra - what a conundrum! I shall investigate further.

Stay safe.

Hi Antonya,

Did you have any luck with your further investigations?

Unknown-314505 and Cock-409 appear to represent the same person because: Cock is correct maiden name per marriage record.
