He married Jemima Gardner and together they had Hepsabeth Coffin (1744-1801), Patience Coffin (1749-1827), Robert Coffin (1760-1797), Jerushai Coffin (1765-unk)
He died 29 Oct 1797 in Nantucket, Nantucket County, Massachusetts.
