Biography

The daughter of Asa Sylvester Coker and Beatrice Nathaniel (Canerday) Coker, Ethel Coker was born in Green Hill, Alabama^{[citation needed]} in 1920, residing there with her family.^[1]

Ethel Coker married William Dalton Wiley, the son of Thomas Henry Wiley and Vadie Izona Wilson, marrying in Alabama City, Alabama on December 23, 1937,^[2] when Ethel was seventeen years old. They made their home in Green Hill, Alabama where, in 1940, her husband worked on a Works Progress Administration project.^[3] and later in Florence, Alabama.^[4] In 1950, Ethel's husband worked as a carpenter.^[5] Ethel and her husband later lived in Florence, Alabama.^[6][7]

Ethel Wiley passed away in Green Hill, Alabama^{[citation needed]} at the age of 82 and is buried at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama.^[8]
