Biography

Barbara Copeland (married name Wilson) was born about 1835. She may be the daughter of Joseph or Joshua Copeland and Sarah Hutton. ^[1]

Marriage. In 1863, Barbara married Charles Wilson in the Colony of Victoria.^[2][3]

Death. Barbara Wilson died in 1919 in Victoria, aged 84 years. Her death notice says she was 86. ^[4]

DEATHS

WILSON. — On the 29th September, at her residence, 33 M'Cracken-street, Kensington, Barbara, relict of late Charles Wilson, and loving mother of Mrs. A. Amess and Mrs. A. M'Fadyen, Ascot Valt [sic]; loving aunt of L. Smythe, Moonee Ponds; loving grandmother of M. D. and C. H. M'Fadyen, A. L. and E. Amess; aged 86 years.

Burial. Following a service on 1st October 1919, her remains were interred in her husband's grave in the Presbyterian portion, Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery (Presbyterian P, Grave 165); Charles having predeceased her in 1912. In 1937, they were joined by their two-day old great-grandson, Baby Gregor (their granddaughter Linda Amess's son). ^[6]
