Biography
Born in 1840 in Brixton, Surrey. His birth was registered as Alfred Coppard Haggar, mother's maiden name being Freeman [1]
He appears on the 1841 census as the apparent son of Elizabeth Haggar. Charles Coppard was living in the same household, but not as head of house [2]
In 1871 Alfred Coppard, a carpenter, was livign with his "wife" Maria in Reigate, Surrey [3]
Alfred Coppard, a bachelor of full age, a carpenter, s/o Charles Coppard, a Builder, married Maria Jones, a spinster of full age, d/o William Jones a Gardener, in 1898 in Reigate, Surrey [4]
He died at 9 Little Roke Road, Henley Road, Coulsdon, of a cerebral hemorhage. Carpenter and joiner. The informant was Muriel Marchant (daughter) of 37 Thanet Road, Erith, Kent on January 12th. [5]
