Biography

Samuel Corning,was born July 22, 1722, the son of Ebenezer Corning and Abigail Batchelder of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia[1]

On July 1, 1795, he married Sarah Killam, the daughter of John Killam and Joanna Parrot of Yarmouth[1], and their children included:

  1. Samuel, born October 14, 1796, who died in November 1796[1]
  2. Sarah, born October 25, 1797, who married Joseph Crosby, son of James[1]
  3. Samuel, born April 4, 1799, who married Mary Brown, daughter of Thomas 1st[1]
  4. Hannah, born December 13, 1800, who married Milford Tedford, son of Jacob[1]
  5. Mehitable, born September 26, 1802, who married George Durkee, son of Stephen[1]
  6. Bowman, born June 26, 1804, who died unmarried[1]
  7. Nelson, born December 29, 1805, who married Matilda Perry, then married Sarah Murphy and third married Jane (Carey) Churchill[1]
  8. Jefferson, born November 26, 1807, who married Frances Durkee and died without children[1]
  9. Ruth, born June 21, 1809, who married Jacob Killam, son of Abraham[1]
  10. Mary, born November 10, 1812, who married jonathan P Corning, son of Jonathan 4th[1]
  11. Letitia, who married Asa Vickery, son of Moses[1]

Sarah (Killam) Corning died January 18, 1835[1], and Samuel Remarried Anna (Crosby) Goudey, the widow of George Goudey[1]

Samuel Corning died March 3, 1867[1]
