Biography

Susan Elizabeth Cox, daughter of Joseph Cox and Mary (Mattison) Cox, was born on 5 June 1821 at South Carolina.[1] She appeared on the census of 19 Aug. 1850 in the home of her parents at Anderson County, South Carolina.[2]

She married Matthew Gambrell Cox, son of Thomas Cox and Mary Polly (Ellison) (Smith) Cox,[1]

She and Matthew appeared on the census of 15 June 1860 at Anderson County, South Carolina.[3] She and Matthew appeared on the census of 23 Aug. 1870 at Belton Township, Anderson County, South Carolina.[4] She and Matthew appeared on the census of 19 June 1880 at Belton Township, Anderson County, South Carolina.[5]

Susan died on 4 April 1900 at Belton, Anderson County, South Carolina and was buried at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Belton, Anderson County, South Carolina. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
