Jonathan Cranor was born 21 November 1795 in North Carolina. Birth date was inscribed on his tombstone.

In 1850, he was recorded in the U.S. Census as "Johnathan Craimer", age 55, farmer, living in Christian County, Kentucky with his wife and children.[1]
