Biography
John (Craufurd) Craufurd XVIIIIth Laird of Auchinames is a member of Clan Crawford.
John was born in 1780 and christened 2 Feb 1780 at Saint Anne's Church, Westminster, London, England.[1] He is a son of Patrick George Craufurd (1741-1804) and his wife Jean (Macdonald) Craufurd (-abt.1811)[1]
He married Sophia Marianna Churchill on 16 Aug 1814, daughter of Major-General Horace Churchill. They had several children:
- Edward Henry John Craufurd (1816-1887)
- Frederick Augustus Buchanan Craufurd Craufurd (abt.1822-abt.1875)
- George Craufurd, born 1826
- Katherine Horatia Craufurd
- Georgiana Janet Craufurd (abt.1827-1911)
He succeeded his cousin, John Craufurd as Clan Chief.
He passed away about 1863.
