Annie was born in 1891[1] in Hull, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of Francis Crombie and Annie Headley; in 1901 Annie lived in Hull with her mother.[2]
At the time of the 1911 census, Annie worked as a domestic servant for the Martin family in Hull.[3]
