Mary (Davis) Bucknall was the daughter of Elizabeth Yount and John C. Davis. He father was born in England.
Mary was the first Anglo-American' child born in San Francisco, CA. (Information provided by Historian, Cecelia Setty.
In 1848 they moved to Grandfather George Yount's Caymus Ranch. They all spent time with Caymus Indians, a small tribe of the Mishewal Wappo, who lived in the Napa Valley.
In 1848 her natural Father John Davis died. Mother remarried and her baby step-brother "Charlie", died.
In 1850 she was engaged to be married and in 1853 she married Dr. George Bucknall in Germany. [1]
In 1870 US Census record for San Francisco, shows Jends (George) Bucknel, Mary E Bucknel of California, daughter Mary E Bucknel of Germany and Margt (Marie) E. Bucknel Marriott of France are all living in her stepfather's Eugene L. Sullivan home in Napa Valley. [2]
Mary died in 1929 and is buried in George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery, Yountville, Napa County, California, USA [3]
