Biography

When Capt. James Davis Jr. was born on 4 June 1744, in Augusta, Virginia, British Colonial America, his father, Capt. James Conway Davis, was 24 and his mother, Mary Elizabeth Carter, was 22. He married Elizabeth Benson about 1759. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Pendleton, South Carolina, United States in 1790. He died on 6 October 1822, in Howard Township, Bates, Missouri, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Fayette, Howard, Missouri, United States.
