Biography

Fred was born on the 5th of July in 1902 in Fresno, California.[1]

Fred is found with his parents and eldest three sisters in the 1910 census in Fresno County, California[2] and parents, 7 siblings and a servant in the 1920 census on Chestnut Street in Fresno.[3]

On the 24th of September 1926 he married Phyllis Loraine Buck in Fresno.

In 1930, he and his wife Lorraine are found with their young son Fred Jr (Sonny) living in Fresno.[4] Unfortunately Sonny drowned a the age of 6.[5]. Fred and Loraine had two daughters.

Fred and Loraine farmed with his brother Walt Davis and Walt's wife Edna (Workman) Davis for a few years in the early 30's but there was not enough income to support two families, so Walt and Edna moved on.

Fred was later able to build his land holdings, continuing to farm and ranch in Fresno and Madera Counties as well as a large property in British Columbia at the historic 105-mile House.[6] Some of his land in Madera County became part of the city of Madera and his daughter named one of the streets Hilton street in honour of Fred's mother's heritage.[7]

He was a member of the Sanger Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite temple.[8]

Fred died on the 24th of November 1984 in Reno, NV and is buried in Fresno at Belmont Memorial Park[1] along with many of his ancestors and siblings.
