Biography

Dorothy Mary, who was always known as June, was born 14 Jun 1905 in Letcher, Fresno County, California.^[1]

June is found with her parents and siblings in the 1910^[2] and 1920 censuses in Fresno.^[3]

June married David Cowan Sample in 1930 in Capitola, Santa Cruz County, California, where the Davis family had a cottage. They ranched in the Sanger area and raised two daughters who continued in the ranching tradition.

June was active in the community, particularly in supporting the original residents of the Central Valley.^[4]

She is buried in the Academy Cemetery.^[1]
