Little has been found out about Caleb. A search through church records from his town may shed some light.
From readily available documents, it apears that he may have had many wives, though the "Dayton Record" only makes note of two- Phebe Hunt and Martha T Ward.
Following is a list of Caleb's children and their mothers in (presumed correct) chronological order:
1808- Phebe: died before death cert were required by the state
1811 David: Death cert omits mother's name
1816 DeLoss: Someone needs to pay NY for death cert
18??- Gilbert: died before death cert were required by the state
1818 Jacob Caleb: Phebe (Death Cert)
1823- Luther: Sarah (Death Cert)
1824- Jane Ann: Could pay to see death cert, in obit no mention
1829- John Calvin: uncertain death date and place
1829- Maryetta: Sarah (Obit)
1833- Lewis: Elizabeth Hunt (Death Cert)
This leads one to believe the wives number 5: Phebe, Sarah, Elizabeth Hunt, Sally Marmey, and finally Martha T Ward.
