Biography

Elizabeth Denison, born 10 Sep 1726, was the fourth child of Robert Denison and Deborah Griswold. She was a namesake for her earlier (1723) born sibling who died in infancy. Her birth location probably was a Mohegan (now Montville) Connecticut where her birth family resided.

==Note== Unfortunately, earlier assertions about the identity of this Elizabeth Denison, which were based solely upon a Find-A-Grave posting (which in itself is unsourced, nevertheless itself presents that the wife of Nathan Smith was a daughter of different parents than the person herein profiled), are now moved below to an Unfounded Notes section, and are erroneous in terms of relevance to this person. This profile originally was a gedcom upload orphaned by its uploader. It included an undocumented marriage to Elisha Huntington (incorrectly input as Harrington). Earlier input spousal attachment of this profile with Elisha Huntington is now supported by the Denison Genealogy reference source (1963) which illustrates that this Elizabeth Denison, daughter of Robert and Deborah (Griswold) Denison married 1 March 1749/50 Elisha Huntington, resulting in 6 children. There is no mention of Nathan Smith as a spouse of this Elizabeth Denison. Spousal attachment of this profile to Nathan Smith is therefore deleted. The Elizabeth Denison who married Nathan Smith was a first cousin of this Elizabeth Denison.
