Biography

William Spencer Dewey was born on 15 Jul 1847 in Ohio and he was the son of Silas Hyde Dewey.

He first married on 12 Dec 1871 in Collin County, Texas to Sarah "Sallie" STEWART and their children included:

1. Edward DEWEY b.20 Mar
2. Amy Spencer DEWEY b.16 Sep 1877.

William's wife Sallie died in 1879 and he remarried in Texas to a Mrs. WEB. ^[1] After her death, he married for a third time on 31 Mar 1889 in Collin County, Texas to Elean or Eland YOUNG. ^[2]

In 1911 he resided in Texas. ^[3]

William died on 05 Oct 1923 in Texas. ^{[2] [4]}

His third wife Elean received a widow's pension for his military service. ^[2]
