George Dickerson was born in England.

George married Phoebe LARNER on 10 June 1846 at Gedney in Lincolnshire.

George Dickerson migrated from Norfolk, England to South Australia on China in 1847.

In 1847, George emigrated to South Australia on the barque China, departing London August 1847, and arriving in Port Adelaide, South Australia, 14 December 1847^[1]. George travelled with his extended family^[2]:

• Wife Phoebe Larner (abt.1800-1881); her daughter from her second marriage, Sophia Spooner (12 years); her son from her first marriage, Thomas Rackham Cannell (abt.1830-1897); her daughter from her first marriage, Abigail Cannell, husband George Johnson, and their daughter Sophia Cannell Johnson (3 years)

The family established themselves in farming in the Tiers (now called the Adelaide Hills)^[3].

George passed away aged 79 on 16 Aug 1889 in Payneham, South Australia^[4].
