Michael Doll was the son of Nicholas & Johanna Doll and immigrated from Baden [1]to Buffalo. He married his wife, Marie Francoise Fougeron, on the 6th of February 1840. He was a grocer. After the death of his wife in 1855, he died himself a year later, leaving three orphaned sons and a daughter. They were:
1) Private William Doll who worked as a butcher for his maternal Uncle until he was enlisted and died in the civil war at the age 21 (with no known heirs).
2) Charles Doll who was three years old when his father died and was taken care of by his Grandmother Madame Fougeron. Then he moved west, married and had two children who appear to have no issue nor married.
3) Augustus Michael Doll who was adopted by his Mother's sister, Marie Ursula Fougeron Miller, and sometimes had the name of Augustus M. Miller. He moved West, married and had children.
4) Cornelia Augustina Doll who was adopted by her mother's brother, Joseph Fougeron, who lived at 127 Niagara Street in Buffalo and sometimes went by the name of Cornelia Fougeron. She never married.
