Archibald Dougan was born on 6 Mar 1871 in Crossmichael, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Dougan and Jessie Tait.[1][2]
In the 1871 Scotland census, Archibald Dougan (under 9 months) was living in Crossmichael, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, with his parents John Dougan (41) and Jessie Dougan (38), and siblings Elisabeth (19), William (12), John (9), Jessie (6), Ellen (5), Alexander (2) and Maggie (2).[3]
In the 1881 Scotland census, Archibald Dougan (10) was living in Crossmichael, with his parents John Dougan (50) and Jessie Dougan (48), and siblings Ellen (15), Alexander (12) and Mary (5), and niece Jessie McMinn (4).[4]
In 1891, Archibald Dougan (20) was living in Kelton, Kirkcudbrightshire, with parents John Dougan (61) and Jessie Dougan (58), and siblings Elizabeth (38), Alexander (22), and William (7), and nephew Henry (3) and John (1). Archibald was a tailor.[5]
In 1901, Archibald Dougan (30, born Crossmichael) was living in Renfrew, Renfrewshire. He was a tailor.[2]
