Hannah (Dovey) Troth was born in Shropshire, England.
Hannah was born on the 19 Oct 1870 in Alveley, Shropshire, England. Daughter of Thomas Dovey & Mary Ann Yates. [1][2] She was baptised on 30th July 1871, in Shropshire. [1]
By 1881 the family had moved to Onion Cottage, Alveley, Shropshire.
Hannah was living with her parents, her brother Walter and her three sisters Constance, Laura and Jessie. [2]
Hannah's half brother Richard Tomlinson had moved to Newport, Shropshire, where he was working as a Police Constable, her half sister Ada Tomlinson was working in Sollihull, Worcestershire as a general servant and Hannah's other half sister Lavinia Tomlinson was still living with thier grandmother Hannah Yates, who had moved to Whittal Cottage, Alveley, Shropshire.
Hannah was working as a 'General Servant' for the 'Wych' family in 1891 at The Cedars, Kemberton, Shropshire. [4]

It was during her time working for the 'Wych' family that Hannah met her future husband Edward Troth, who was living in Field Lane, Kemberton, Shropshire. [5]
Hannah married Edward Troth in 1894 in the Shifnal district of Shropshire. [6]
On 20th December 1894 Hannah gave birth to their first child Walter, in her home village of Alveley, Shropshire. [7][8]Walter was baptised on 27th January 1895, in Shropshire. [9]
Second child Leonard was born in 1896, in Kemberton, Shropshire. [10] Sadly baby Leonard passed away in 1897.[11]
On 23 April 1898, third son Percy was born. [12][13]
Fouth son Charles was born on 20th January 1900, in Kemberton, Shropshire. [14]
by 1901 Hannah and Edward were living at Lower Houses, Kemberton, Shropshire with their three sons Walter, Percy & Charles.
Edward was working as a 'Wagonner' on the farm. [15]
By 1911 the family had moved to 'Lower Upton, Near Shifnal, Shropshire'. Edward was still working as a 'Waggoner on Farm' & eldest son Walter was working as an 'Agricultural Labourer'. [18]
Youngest daughter Jessie was born on 30th April 1911, a late baby for Hannah who was 40 yrs old at the time. [19]
4th August 1914 saw Britain at war with Germany in WW1, Hannah & Edward's oldest son Walter joined up early on. In 1918 they got the terrible news that Walter had been killed in Action on 18th September 1918.[20]
