Kate Embry Dowdle was born November 2, 1871, a daughter of Robert Allen Dowdle and Rebecca Aylette Taylor. Kate was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution [1] and was the descendant of four DAR Ancestors: Aylett Buckner Buckner-573 born March 3, 1745 in Prince William county, Virginia [2]; James Dowdell, Dowdle-365 born 1758, in Virginia; [3] Anthony Thornton, Sr. Thornton-2837 born 1727, in Caroline county, Virginia [4] and Daniel White, White-42385 born 1748, in Virginia [5]
In 1893, Kate married Samuel Preston Davis, who was born April 2, 1868. Children of Kate and Samuel include:
Samuel died August 2, 1927, at the age of 59 years and is buried in the Oakland and Fraternal Historic Cemetery Park aka Fraternal Cemetery, Oakland Cemetery, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Kate survived her husband and passed away at the age of 82 years, on September 27, 1954 and is buried with him. [6]
