My great grandfather from mother’s side is apparently an illegal son of Kaiser Wilhelm II, and a cook in the Hotel des Indes in The Hague in the Netherlands. Born in 1885, he was adopted by the family van der Pol, but received a stipendum until his 18th birthday from the imperial family. I am trying to find out more about this family heritage. On my father’s side, the family comes from former Dutch East Indies, now Indonesia, from families Drijsen and Vieten.
