Henry was born in 1755. He was the son of Elias du Bois and Susannah Vanderburgh. He passed away in 1794.
He is mentioned in his father's will.[1] He is mentioned in the pension application of Elias Van Benschoten as an officer during the Canadian Campaign of 1775-76.[2]

No marriage record for Henry and Eleanor has been found. She may be the daughter of Johannes Ter Bos (1732-1768). His will names a daughter Neeltje. Henry is mentioned in his mother's bible.[5] His family is described by Poucher, listing wife, Eleanor Ter Bush, daughter of John Ter Bush Jr. and Catherine Van Wyck, and children Catherine, b. 11 Aug 1781, Susanna, b. 5 Oct 1783, Louis b. 28 Jul 1786, and John Henry b. 28 Jul 1786.[6]
