Jacob was born about 1790. Jacob Dudley is noted in 1814 selling several parcels of land in Jones County, North Carolina [1]
There is a J. Dudley listed in the 1830 Autauga County, Alabama census. He is head of household aged 30 - 40.[2]
This area is next to Dallas County, and also next to the Creek indian lands that had yet to be ceded to the state.
Research Notes
All the early southern Dudley families descend from Edward Dudley. There was a deep oral tradition among grandchildren of Stephen D. Dudley that his mother was Creek Indian. This did not prove to be the case, however it is possible the tradition came from the unknown spouse of this Jacob.
