Biography

Annie was born on September 3, 1878 and baptized on September 30.[1] She is the daughter of Francis Duggan and Ellen Beck. She married William Wagner, widower, on December 13, 1894.[2] In the 1901 census[3] the family included four children. The oldest, William (Jr) at 11 would have been from William's first marriage. Birth records show six children born to William and Annie from 1895 to 1912.

It would seem that Annie and William must have separated at some point after that as their oldest son Leo's First World War draft documents in 1918 show William still living in Prospect but Annie living in Halifax city. William was still in Prospect in the 1921 census. He passed away in 1922.

In the 1931 census[4] Annie and Michael Walsh are living as husband and wife at 192 Barrington Street, Halifax, with three children. Annie is using the Walsh surname. Michael's wife Catherine, age 81, is in a nursing home a few blocks away at 300 Barrington St. She was 13 years older than Michael.

On April 30, 1935 they were officially married[5] and Annie stated her name then as Anna Wagner and that she was the housekeeper. But the marriage was destined to be short. They were living on Maitland Street, Halifax when Michael passed away a year later. Annie's date of death is unknown.
