Biography

On January 25, 1854 James Duggan, son of James Duggan and Betsy (Eliz.) Jones, was born in Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire, Wales.

In 1875 James married Jane E. (“Jennie”) Bradshaw.

On the 1880 United States Federal Census for Barclay, Bradford Co., PA James Duggan, age 26, was listed with his wife Jane Duggan and their daughters Mary M. and Betsy E. James’ occupation was shown as Mining Coal.

James Duggan was listed twice on the 1900 United States Federal Census for Sayre, Bradford Co., PA: On the 1900 United States Federal Census for Sayre, Bradford Co., PA James Duggan, age 46, was residing with his father James Duggan, and his daughter Mary Duggan, and Mary’s son Lloyd. James’ occupation was shown as Fireman.

On the 1900 United States Federal Census for Sayre, Bradford Co., PA James Duggan, age 46, was residing with his wife Jennie Duggan and their children Rosina, Mater (Mary) Alexander, and Mary’s son Frances Alexander. James’ occupation was shown as Fireman (R.R.)

Between 1900 – 1903 Jennie left James and moved to Syracuse, Onondaga Co., NY.

On August 17, 1912, James Duggan died at age 58 at the home of his sister, Mrs Daniel Medlar in Sayre, Bradford Co., PA.[1]

He is buried in Tioga Point Cemetery, Sayre. [2]
