Joseph Duhon Sr is a part of US Black heritage.

Joseph Gerald Duhon was born on July 28, 1954, in Lafayette, Lafayette, Louisiana, United States. His parents were Lawrence Duhon Sr (1920 - 1989) and Lucille (Duffey) Duhon (1919 - 1997).

Joseph died on April 9, 2017, in Lafayette aged 62.

Obituary

Liturgy of the Word will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Joseph Gerald Duhon, Sr., age 62, who passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 10:07 a.m. at his residence in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Hampton Davis, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Duhon was a native and resident of Lafayette. He was previously employed at Shez Pastor for fifteen years and was more recently employed at Lafonda's for over ten years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, Joseph Gerald Duhon, Jr. and his wife, Andrea, Brandon Duhon and his wife, Kimberly, Joshua Duhon and Tylor Duhon, all of Lafayette; one daughter, Lauren Livings of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Jerrelle Duhon, Jaryd Duhon, Courtlon Duhon, Coleby Duhon, Brandon Kyle Duhon, Jr., and Wyatt Livings; one brother, Charles Joseph Duhon, Sr. of Lafayette; and two sisters, Doris Doucet and her husband, Vernon of Baytown, TX and Mary Alexander of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Duhon, Sr. and the former, Lucille Duffey, both natives of Carencro; two brothers, Clarence Duhon and Lawrence Duhon, Jr.; and one sister, Florence Bonnet.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Duhon, Tylor Duhon, Brandon Duhon, Jerrelle Duhon, Charles Duhon, Jr., and Kevin Doucet.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Avenue, Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
