His Death noted as: ..."These outrages at Pakatakan, aroused the attention of the Americans, who sent a company of militia from Schoharie to drive the marauders from the frontiers. On approach of the troops, the tories fled to the older settlements of Hurley, while the Indians retired toward the Susquehanna. No further attempts were made by the settlers to establish themselves at Pakatakan, until after the close of the war, but occasional visits, were made to the place, by the settlers, for the removal of their property, or gathering in of their crops. It was on occasions like that both DUMOND (Hermanus) and Burgher were shot. DUMOND was killed on the twenty-sixth of August 1778. He had returned with John Barrow from Hurley, to which place they had fled, as stated above, in order to secure a piece of grain. Having accomplished their purpose, they set out to return again to Hurley, and when about a mile from his place of residence at Pakatakan, they fell in with the Schoharie Guard, who took them prisoners."[4]

There are two duplicates of this profile. I have initiated a merge of Dumond 348, Dumond-177. The resulting profile should then be merged with this one. They are clearly the same person. The birth dates and death places (and date by a couple of days) need to be resolved, but that is nothing that should stop the merge as it is clear they are meant to be the same person. While awaiting the 348 ->177 merge, I will research that info.

DuMond-177 and Dumond-122 are not ready to be merged because: Needs more research
DuMond-177 and Dumond-122 appear to represent the same person because: Dumond-122 should be this person.
