Biography
Jane was christened on 2 January 1834 at Strachan Parish in Kincardineshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Robert and Jane (Brebner) Duncan.
It is unknown when or why she moved south, but in 1861 she married Francis Brown at Montrose Parish down the coast in Forfarshire.[1] They had at least one child, Jane Bremner "Brymer" Brown, born 1867.
Jane passed away July 2, 1869.[2] Her death certificate was signed by her brother Robert. During the 1871 census, daughter Jane was living with her grandparents Robert and Jane Duncan.
Daughter Jane married John Duncan at Dunnottar Parish in 1895. The marriage certificate puts her at 28 years old, domestic servant, residing at Nether "Findleyston" (Finlaystone?) at Fetteresso Parish.
