NEWBURY EDY, son of Daniel and Sarah Edy had a farm on Lot 10, Concession 9, Clarenceville/Caldwell's Manor, (Townships of St. Thomas and St. George, Missisquoi, Quebec) His son, Peter Hawley Edy inherited this farm and his son, Omri Edy settled on Lot 7, Concession 9. The road they lived on was Beech Ridge Road and the cemetery where most of the family is buried was on Lot 13, Concession 9, just south of Nutt's Corners. This cemetery, the Hawley/South Beech Ridge cemetery, was on the property owned by Peter Hawley, Newbury's father-in-law. (Written by Jane (Edy) Hughes)

I was kindly provided with a copy of a deed for Lot 5, Concession 9, Caldwell Manor, Quebec, Canada. My Gr.Gr. Grandfather, Isaac Johnson purchased this property in 1803 from a David Prosser who, in turn, had previously purchased it from NEWBURY EDDY September 2, 1799.
I'm not sure if you are aware there are quite a few Edy/Eddy names listed on headstones in the Hawley Cemetery (also known as South Beech Cemetery) near the a/m property and near the town of Clarenceville, Quebec.
I thought Eddy/Edy family researchers would be interested in this.
