Laura Elkins Goins

COEBURN--Laura Elkins Goins, 83, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She spent most of her life in Dickenson County and was a member of Georges Fork Old REgular Baptist Church and was also a member of Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barthel Goins; one daughter, Avinelle Goins Brown; and one son, Randall Ray Goins. She is survived by one daughter, Kay Goins of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sons, Bradley Goins and Gregory Goins, both of Clintwood; two sisters, Virginia Potter of Westland, Mich., and Lorena Frazier of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, Frank Elkins of Ashland, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel, where a song service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friends may also call Sunday, April 7, 2002 after 2 p.m. at Georges Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday at Georges Fork Old REgular Baptist Church with Elders Robert Kelly and Frank O'Quinn. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. April 8, 2002, at Elkins Cemetery, Clintwood, in the Georges Fork section. Pallbearers will be Rusty Goins, Michael Goins, Hurcell Fleming, Randall Goins, Freddie Goins, Sonny Goins and Ron Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be John Morgan Stanley, Bobby Elkins Jr., Clyde Ed Davis and Dr. N.C. Ratliff.
