Biography

Allyn was born in 1941. He was the son of Adney Elletson and Gladys Downes.

He married Karen Lee Holland (1942–2018). They had the following children:

Nathan Brady Elletson 1973–

Brandon Joseph Elletson 1976–

He passed away in 2007.

WILLISTON, N.D. - Allyn (Al) A. Elletson, 65, of Williston passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at his home.

His memorial service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the Everson Memorial Chapel in Williston. Pastor Steve Anderson will officiate. Cremation has taken place.

Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home from noon until 5 p.m. on Tuesday and at the Everson Funeral Home for one hour before service time on Wednesday, to sign the register book.

Allyn Adney Elletson was born on June 10, 1941 in Sidney, Mont., to Adney and Gladys (Downes) Elletson. He was raised and educated in Fairview, Mont., until moving to Williston when he was 12.

He attended auto body school at Bismarck State College. His first auto body job was at Loman Motors in Miles City. He served in the United States Army, in Germany from 1959 until he was honorably discharged in 1962.

On Dec. 27, 1963 he was united in marriage to Karen Holland in Williston.

Allyn did auto body work for many years at Williston businesses such as Jerry Harmon Motors, Herb's Body Shop, Alme Body Shop, and Hollens Auto Body.

Allyn enjoyed racing stock cars, fishing, hunting, reading western books, history, playing cards, and listening to the Trading Post at 10:10 a.m. daily.

He is survived by Karen Elletson of Williston; his four sons, Corey (Bessie) Elletson, and their children, Collin, Cameron, Craig, and Theresa; Allyn Dean (Marnie) Elletson and their children, Max and Tomi Ann, Brady (Michelle) Elletson, and Brandon (Jessica) Elletson and their daughter, Afton and Kristina, all of Williston; one great-grandson, Jacob; brothers, Lon (Myrna) Elletson of Williston and Richard Elletson of Fairview; and by his sisters, Charlene Elletson of Las Vegas, Twyla Elletson of Duluth, Minn., and Lucille Arellano of Coos Bay, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dale, Bob, George and Bill; and by sisters, Della and Thea.

The Everson Funeral Home of Williston is caring for the family.

Allyn is my grandfather, he now has two more grandchildren and more great grandchildren. One of which is my own son.
