Sarah Embree was born about 1798 in Nova Scotia, daughter of Joseph Embree (1760–1828) and Catherine Romer (~1763–1846).[1]
Her siblings were:
- Deborah Embree (~1786–1873)
- Frances Embree (1787–1880)
- Jacob Embree (1794–1857)
- Samuel Embree (~1795–1833)
Sarah (18) married Gabriel Purdy (26) (born on February 18, 1791 in Nova Scotia; son of Sgt. Gabriel T. Purdy and Esther (Angevine) Purdy) on April 6, 1817. Their known children were:
- Joseph Embree Purdy (~1821–~1881)
- Julia Ann Purdy (1830– )
Sarah died on September 6, 1855 in Nova Scotia, aged about 56. She was buried in Embree Cemetery, Rose, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.[1]
