No birth record has yet been found for Johannes; the one HHE record he appears in[1] says he was born in Brismene parish in 1742, while his death record[2]says he was 52 years old when he passed away on 20 April 1792 – suggesting a birth in 1739 or 1740.
In either case, he married Ingrid Svensdotter on 17 November 1771;[3] at this time, he already lived at Tången (while she lived in Arngrimstorp), and based on the birth records of their children (see below) and the already mentioned HHE record, they seem to have lived there for the rest of his life.
Johannes and Ingrid had four children, of which three lived to adulthood:
- Eric, born 24 September 1774[4] and died 5 February 1777[5]
- Ingeborg, born 11 January 1778[6]
- Sven, born 5 April 1783[7]
- Cajsa, born 6 December 1788[8]
