Jonas Ericsson (1795 - 1867)

Biography

Jonas was born at Ärtebräckan in Erska parish on July 15, 1795 and was christened on July 17, 1795. His parents were Eric Pärsson and Elin Larsdotter. Witnesses: Sven Jönsson and Kjerstin Bengtsdotter. ^[1]

In the picture below Jonas is listed with his parents and siblings at Ärtebräckan in the household book of 1796-1816.

It seems Jonas moved away from home in 1811 to start working as a "dräng", ie farmhand. In the household book of Erska 1816-1820 we find him at Trolltorp and on the same page is listed pigan Annika Jonsdotter born 1798(?).^[2]

In household books of Magra parish 1820-1828 we find them both at Mörlanda Västergård^[3] They marry on February 15, 1822 ^[4]

They will live at Bjärlanda Börtegård (later called Båtegård) and they have the following children; ^{[5] [6] [7]}

Anders and Anna-Greta (twins), born Dec. 1824. It seems only Anders made it, there is a note that Anna-Greta died an infant.

Andreas, born June 25, 1836
Annika, born Oct. 6, 1840

Household book entry

Jonas become a widower January 3, 1866. Jonas dies on October 11, 1867. ^[8]
