Biography

Nils was born in 1622 since 43 years old in census 1665^[1], the first son of Erik Haldorson and Madela. [Note a Rhinhert family history erroneously gives a birth year of 1632].

He married Siri Rasmusdotter, who was born in Tjelmeland, Sande and died in Frette in 1695.

He farmed Gaarden Frette in 1650, and he became a rich man when he inherited Gaarden Frette in 1664. In 1680, he owned Vinje, Flokatveit, and Kalodheim.

He died in 1698.

Nils Eriksson f. 1622 on Frette, d. 1696 on Frette, was born on the neighbour farm and was the son of the brother of the previous user. He took over the farm some time in the middle or the end of the 1650s. Nils was a wealthy man who in the 1680s owned parts in the farms Vinja, Flokatveit and Kaldheim in Etne. In 1695 he was mentioned as a seller of a part of Norheim.

Nils Eriksson and Siri Rasmusdotter had the following children born in Frette:

3. Lars Nilsson (1659- ) (twin of Erik). He moved to Fjelberg district and married Anna Tollaksdatter, Arnevik
4. Jon Nilsson (1660-1746) m Haldis Jonsdotter, Tungesvik. Jon died in Tungesvik, Skanevik district
5. Hans Nilsson (1664-1751) m Guri Larsdotter. Hans died in Hovland.
6. Rasmus Nilsson (1670-1756) m Ragnahild Eriksdotter, Silda. Rasmus died in Frette
7. Madela Nilsdotter (1676-1741) m Tolleiv Eriksson, Skjeldal. She died in Skjeldal
8. Siri (1680-1750)
9. Nils Nilsson (1682-1762) m Unknown, from Sauda.
