Biography

“The actual village of origin of the Eschweins was 6729 Hördt (18km. s. of Speyer).”[1]

Johannes Thomas Eschwein was born around 1675 in Hördt, Germany.[2]

28 May 1696 Johannes Thomas Eschwein married Elisabetha daughter of Joannis Werner of Gunspach[1]

A 1710 Palatine emigrant, Thomas Eschweiler (sic), his wife and 2 children were noted 10 June 1709 on Capt. John Howlentzon's ship in Holland. Thomas Eschweiler (sic), husbandman and vinedresser, aged 34 with his wife and daughters aged 10 and 6 were noted in the 4th arrivals in London later that year. Thomas Eschwein made his first appearance on the Hunter Lists 4 July 1710 with 2 persons over 10 years of age in his family. The entry for 4 August 1710 read Thomas Eschwin's widow.
