Biography
Elizabeth was born before 1770. She married Henry Norfleet in Gates County, North Carolina in Sep 1785. The couple reportedly settled in nearby Nansemond County, Virginia, where her husband was from, although Elizabeth appears without her husband in Gates County, N.C., in the 1786 state census and 1790 federal census. A son, John Norfleet, was born in 1786. Her date of death is unknown.
Note: Multiple Ancestry.com family trees list Elizabeth's date and place of birth as the same as her husbands, without reliable sources. There also seems to be confusion on some Ancestry family trees between Elizabeth Norfleet, the daughter of Abraham Norfleet and Elizabeth Norfleet, the wife of Henry Norfleet.
