Ethel was born about 1883 in Ontario.[1] She was the daughter of Samuel Ewing and Mary Allen.[1][2] She married James Arthur Kerr, son of James Kerr and Susanna Woods, in Aurora, York, Ontario in 1921.[2] She died in 1936 in Alliston, Simcoe, Ontario.[3]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ethel by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
