Marguerite (Margaret) de Dibon Faber was born August 18, 1895, a daughter to Alfred Denis Faber and Christiana Jackson in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada. Her birth was registered in Nanaimo.
Margaret was one of four children born to Alfred and Christiana; Dorothy, John, Margaret and Katherine. Dorothy died in a drowning accident, along with two cousins in 1894 on Sproat Lake in Port Alberni, British Columbia.
Her father Alfred, passed away on October 29, 1899 and was buried at the Greenwood Cemetery in Port Alberni, British Columbia.
After her father's death, her mother, Christiana, moved the remaining family back to England.
