Jacques Gautier, son of François Gautier and Andrée ___, of the parish of Ste-Radegonde, city and diocese of Poitiers, married Agathe Failly, daughter of Pierre Failly and Marie Agathe Quinquenelle, on 25 Feb 1699 in Notre-Dame de Québec ^[5], the marriage was celebrated by François Dupré in the presence of Jean Giron, Jean Roy, Jacques Bois, Michel Bois and Jean Étienne Dubreuil. This last man was the only one who could sign with the groom, all others being unable to do so.
