Research Notes

Roger Etherstone-3 of Adderstone in Northumberland was the father of Elizabeth(?) Etherstone who married Thomas Forster-144. Their son Thomas Forster-940 of Adderstone married Elizabeth Featherstonhaugh daughter of Unknown Featherstone-316 of Stanhope, County Durham. Although Etherstone and Featherstonhaugh may sound similar these are distinct families living in different places. The two Elizabeths, their fathers, and their husbands the two Thomases, are all different people. See the various pedigrees cited on the two Thomas's profiles.

Etherstone-1 and Featherstonhaugh-4 appear to represent the same person because: Their birthdates are estimated at 20 years apart but they are both married to the same Thomas Forster b bef. Mar 20, 1513. Their surnames are phonetic spellings of each other. Their is a Featherstone lineage and good sourcing on Featherstonhaugh-4.
