Biography

Charles was born on January 6, 1913 in South
Charles Flynn died young.
Boston, MA. He was the fourth son of John Flynn and Annie Ridge. He passed away from a tragic accident on June 19, 1917 at only 4 years of age.

Transcription of Boston Globe article reads: "SOUTH BOSTON BOY, MAY DIE OF FALL FROM CARAVAN - Five-year-old Charles Flynn of 318 F St. South Boston, is in a dangerous condition at the City Hospital of a skull fracture received when he fell last night from a caravan owned by the Frank T. Hannon Company and driven by Peter J. Connors of 267 Athens st. The boy was attempting to climb aboard the truck. Connors is being held by the police on a technical charge, pending the outcome of the boys injury."

NOTE: The article has two mistakes. Charles was only 4 (not 5), and he lived at 218 F St (not 318) per census and death record.

Little Charles died of his injuries that same day and was buried in New Calvary Cemetery in Boston, MA. Within three months, his mother and twin baby sisters passed as well and so joined him.
