According to census data, Adelia, daughter of Andrew Fontaine and Edvige (Menard) Fontaine, was born about 1865 in Haverhill, Massachusetts.[1] One possible birthdate is 11 December 1864 (source unidentified).
On 26 Aug 1882, she married Edward Tatro, son of Edward and Mary Tatro, in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. [2] The couple had 7 known children:
Rhode Island records show that Adelia died 6 June 1899 in Warwick, Rhode Island, a date that is also cited on her gravestone in St Joseph's Cemetery, West Warwick.[3][4] (Note: Although the "Adelle" Tatro listed in the 1900 census appears to be Adelia, she is not. See note below for 1900 census.)
United States Census 1900, Warwick town, Kent, Rhode Island. NOTE: The 1900 census record shows Edward married to "Adelle," born 1860, married 18 years. However, first wife Delia was born ~1865 and died 1899, age 34. He married Adelle Desjardins in August 1899.[10]
